They do more
Original Roosters stand out for their versatility – and with their deep, russet red skins and distinctive shallow eyes, they have a unique appearance, too. The Rooster’s full, buttery texture and distinctive, nutty taste make it a great choice for roasting or chipping – and it’s extremely easy to peel. With their uniform, rounded shape and size Roosters also make great jacket potatoes. Look out for the special packs of large potatoes ideal for baking.
This classic, all-rounder with its fantastic rich flavour has become a firm favourite in kitchens across the country. It’s easy to cook with and works well in a wide variety of recipes. Check out our chefs’ favourite Rooster potatoes recipes here or look out for them on the back of the pack.
We’re not the only ones who think our Rooster potatoes are a bit special. We’re proud that our No. 1 has also been recognised with more than its fair share of awards at home, and abroad. These include ‘Best Fruit or Vegetable Product’ at the Scottish Food and Drink Excellence awards, a number of Great Taste Gold awards, and the Saveur de L’Annee (Flavour of the Year) – France’s premier food award.
