The Albert Bartlett family
We started our family tradition of selling good quality produce in 1948 when Albert himself invested £30 in an old water boiler and cast iron bath to set up a beetroot boiling operation in Coatbridge, Scotland.
Nine years later, Albert’s experience and passion in produce allowed him to expand the business. Along with his two sons, Jimmy and Alex, they found a new home to grow their business in Airdrie, Scotland. On that very same Airdrie site, we made history when we became the first factory in Britain to pre-pack carrots in a plastic bag.
Over the years we’ve built on our experience and are proud to supply potatoes from our grower and production network across England, Ireland, Scotland and Jersey. In 2012 we opened our operation in the USA, which has gone from strength to strength. 2015 saw an exciting expansion with the purchase of our frozen potato facility at Westwick in Norfolk.
