Heygate Farms have been growing potatoes for us since 2006 from the Breckland Sands near Swaffham in Norfolk. The farms are spread over 5655 acres, 1400 of which are used for growing potatoes, and the rest for wheat, barley, rye, oilseed rape and sugar beet and rearing 400 ewe lambs.
Farm Manager Will Gribbon makes sure that the farms are involved in numerous environmental schemes, including Operation Bumblebee, designed to boost bumble bee numbers in arable farmland. He is a member of LEAF and enrolled in the Entry level Stewardship Scheme which covers hedgerow management, stone wall maintenance, low input grassland, buffer strips and arable options.
