We currently have roles available within our Packaging Store Department. Successful candidates will have a Reach Forklift Licence. Experience working within a similar environment will add weight to your application, but don’t let that put you off.

Job Description

Due to continued growth we are currently recruiting for Packaging Store Assistants for our Airdrie Site.

The Packaging Store Assistant will carry out all warehousing duties within the Packaging Store and relevant storage areas. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and keeping all storage areas clean and tidy. In addition any other duties as instructed by management.

  • Unload and check all incoming packaging materials from all delivery points and place in correct storage area.
  • Ensure stock rotation with oldest being used first.
  • Ensure all packaging materials are kept in designated areas and packaging store is clean and tidy at all times.
  • Ensure packaging materials are available for production to have easy access to.
  • Pick stock and materials required for other sites as required and arrange goods for transit and despatch.
  • Monitor the weekly label memo and remove any packaging/labels accordingly.
  • Provide stock take information to management on a daily basis.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehousing activities, cycle counts and stock takes.
  • Ensure Group Purchasing Manager/assistant are kept informed at all times.

Forklift and Reach licence is a requirement

Shift Pattern & Rate of Pay (Options Available):

Shift Pattern:

Day-Shift: Mon to Fri 09.00 to 17.00 + Every 4th Saturday. £10.75 per hour + 50p shift allowance.
Back-Shift: Monday – Friday between the hours of 15.00 – 23.30. £10.75 per hour.

Skills & Experience

  • Ability to record accurate load information
  • Ability to count accurately
  • Ability to work independently and carry out tasks with little supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Forklift/Reach Licence
  • Experience of forklift truck / pallet truck driving in fast moving environment
  • Good Communication Skills

All applicants should hold a valid Reach Forklift Licence and have previous working experience operating them.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to learn, be a good team player, have an ability to pay attention to detail, and have a strong sense of good customer service. The role will involve attaining Company production targets to satisfy customer demands, very often to tight schedules.
