Apache, Rooster

Douglas and James Brunton

The Bruntons grow a range of potatoes, from salads through to main crop.  They also grow a range of cereals including wheat and barley which are used for distilling, animal feed and malting. As part of their rotation programme, they rent land for carrots, peas and swedes. They actively manage environmentally sensitive areas, maintaining and enhancing the surrounding wildlife habitats. These support a breeding population of the endangered corn bunting, and owls, peregrine falcons and the odd kingfisher are often spotted on the farm. The building of irrigation ponds have also increased sighting of otter and migratory birds. Over the years, their business has supported many local events and organisations; most recently the Arbroath Seafest. Please see Brunton Farms website for more information.
